Magdalene welcomes new Fellows

We are pleased to welcome several new Fellows to Magdalene. Each brings a wealth of experience, expertise, and fresh perspectives to our community.

We look forward to the contributions they will make across teaching, research, and College life.

Read on to learn more about each of our new Fellows. From left to right:

Mr Aaron Taylor is a Visiting Fellow at Magdalene and a barrister at Fountain Court Chambers, specialising in civil fraud and art law. He teaches at LSE and is working on a book and article on art market fraud. His research is supported by a Churchill Fellowship.

Dr Lydia Walker is a Visiting Fellow and a historian of 20th-century decolonisation, specialising in South Asia, Southern Africa, military intervention, and resistance movements. She is Assistant Professor and Seth Andre Myers Chair in Global Military History at The Ohio State University.

Professor Xavier Moyà is an Official Fellow, College Lecturer, and Director of Studies in Materials Science. He specialises in the thermal properties of materials and phase transitions, aiming to develop greener cooling and heating technologies. He is a member of the UK Young Academy and a Breakthrough Energy Fellow.

Professor Jeremy Begbie is a Fellow Commoner. He is the Thomas A. Langford Distinguished Research Professor of Theology at Duke Divinity School and McDonald Agape Director of Duke Initiatives in Theology and the Arts. He specialises in Christian doctrine and systematic theology, with a focus on the interaction between theology and the arts, particularly music.

Professor Andrea Zifferero is a Visiting Fellow and Associate Professor of Etruscology at the University of Siena, Italy. He specialises in the organisation of settlement systems in ancient Etruria. His research focuses on the topography of Etruscan cities and their surrounding landscapes, with particular attention to environmental resource use.

Professor Richard Peiser is a Visiting Fellow. He is the first Michael D. Spear Professor of Real Estate Development at Harvard GSD. He founded the Real Estate Academic Initiative and the Advanced Management Development Program. Previously, he established the MRED Program and the Lusk Center at USC. His research focuses on real estate development.

We are delighted to have such talented individuals joining the Fellowship and look forward to the many ways they will enrich College life. Please join us in welcoming them to Magdalene.
